Big match review: Blaublitz Akita 3-6 Fujieda MYFC

Yes that scoreline is correct, do not adjust your computer in any way. The final score today really was 3-6 to Fujieda, helped by a fantastic hat trick by Alan. The fans in Akita were treated to an unexpected goal fest after last year’s 0-0 draw between the two sides. The win sees MYFC move up to 6th place, albeit temporarily with the majority of JFL games happening tomorrow.

Some very big team news for Fujieda before the game was that both Kerlon and Alan would both return to the starting lineup for for the first time since their respective injuries. Yuta Murase and Hiroki Narabayashi dropped out for the two Brazilians. Shogo Fujimaki remained in defence with player/manager Toshihide Saito on the bench.

Blaublitz’s top scorer Masatoshi Matsuda was absent from the lineup so second top scorer Takeshi Handa and Tago Sugahara started up top.

Ironically, it was Akita who felt a blitz of goals in eighteen first half minutes. First, Kerlon gave Fujieda the lead after 23 minutes. Then fellow attacking midfielder Alan scored his third of the season seven minutes later before Kerlon got on the score sheet once more with his six of the season four minutes from the end of half time.

It was a completely unexpected turn of events with Blaublitz the pre-match favourites as they were occupying 4th spot. The home side decided against making any changes at half time and Takahisa Nishiyama put Fujieda into dream land when he scored the away side’s fourth in the 54th minute.

The home side then brought on a couple of substitutes, one being Shintaro Hirai who was making his 13th appearance of the season from the bench.

The changes seemed to have some effect as the hosts pulled a goal back through Handa’s six of the season to make it 4-1. Kerlon was then withdrawn for Yuki Okada to make sure MYFC did not cave in.

Nishiyama was then replaced by Matsumoto Yamaga loanee Kosei Arita for his first appearance since March. He assisted Alan to complete his hat trick on the 84th minute but that was after the Brazilian had got his second in the 76th minute after being set up by Masaya Sato.

Fujieda were then 6-1 up but will not be happy by the fact they conceded two goals in stoppage time. In the 90th minute, Hirai got his second of the season before in the third minute of added time, Keita Makiuchi got Akita’s third goal.

Blaublitz Akita (3-5-2) – Asai; Esaki, Hatta, Susuki; Omori, Maeyama (Higa 74′), Kumabayashi, Miyoshi (Makiuchi 51′), Nito; Handa, Sugahara (Hirai 57′)

Fujieda MYFC (4-2-3-1) – Murao; Fujimaki, Sato, Tominari, Nakatsuru; Ishii, Hisatomi, Alan, Kerlon (Okada 68′), Okuda (Murase 79′); Nishiyama (Arita 77′)

Final score: Blaublitz Akita 3-6 Fujieda MYFC

Scorers: Kerlon 23′, 41′, Alan 30′, 76′, 84′, Nishiyama 54′, Handa 58′, Hirai 90′, Makiuchi 90+3′

Attendance: 1,089

Next game: Sunday 16th June 1pm (5am UK time) – Sony Sendai (home)

An incredible result then but what really matters are the three points earned away to a decent side. Disappointing to see two late goals conceded but who can blame them when you are 6-1 up! Kerlon and Alan back in the starting lineup made an obvious difference so let’s hope they can remain injury free.
