Big match review: Fujieda MYFC 1-0 Honda FC

Yes! Fujieda are the winners of the Shizuoka Prefecture Cup and have therefore qualified for the first round of the Emperor’s Cup which starts next week! A 1-0 win over arch rivals  Honda FC was enough to see MYFC claim victory and qualification the country’s largest national cup.

After Saturday’s semi final win, Toshihide Saito decided to make some changes. He left out Shogo Nakatsuru and Hiroki Narabayashi for goalscorer Kazushi Uchida and Toshiya Ishii. Takumi Hashimoto also made way for Takahisa Nishiyama, who started up front with Alan dropping back into midfield.

The only goal of the game came in the first half when Yuta Murase whipped in a corner from the left side. Shogo Fujimaki rose above everyone else to head home the winner and spark jubilant celebrations between the Fujieda players.
