JFL Review: Fujieda MYFC 2-1 Blaublitz Akita

A fantastic opening twenty minutes were enough for Fujieda to secure their second victory of the season over Blaublitz Akita, who before this game, were in sixth place.

There were three changes in personal for the hosts from last week’s defeat at Shimizu S-Pulse. In came Takumi Hashimoto and Alan came in for Yuta Murase and Takahashi Nishiyama. Daichi Shibata replaced Tatsuya Murao in goal.

There was also a change in system as Toshihide Saito decided to go for a 4-4-2 formation, rather than the usual 4-2-3-1. This meant that Shogo Fujimaki, who joined the side as a striker but had been playing centre back in past weeks, was to partner Alan up top.

The opposition went for a 3-5-2 system with joint top scorer Takeshi Handa up front with Yasuhiro Yamakosi who was making his first start of the season.

The home side got off to a cracking start. With just eight minutes on the clock, Ken Hisatomi gave his side the lead. It was the midfielder’s fifth goal of the season after making his move from Matsumoto Yamaga permanent at the start of the year.

Just eleven minutes later, MYFC doubled their lead. This time it was Hashimoto scoring his third goal of the season as he finished off a corner from the right by Shogo Nakatsuru.

Blaublitz were clearly shocked by what had just happened. They came into the game in good form but found themselves two goals down after just 19 minutes. It didn’t get much better for them as they failed to record a single shot on goal in the first half, with Fujieda having eight.

The half time break saw both teams make substitutions with Alan replaced by Nishiyama up front and Hirotika Miyoshi coming off for Kenji Suzuki for the visitors.

The game continued the follow the same pattern as the first half with Fujieda staying on top. That was until both managers made changes in the 68th minute. The hosts brought on Akira Toshima for his league debut, replacing Fujimaki, whilst the away side made a surprisng change, bringing on defender Toshio Shimakawa for midfielder Shintaro Hirai.

The changes seemed to change the flow of the game as one minute later, Blaublitz pulled one back. Centre back Shinya Hatta scored his fourth of the season from a corner by Shingo Kumabayashi. The away side were back in it.

They then threw on Masatoshi Matsuda, who has eight goals this season, but it was not enough and Fujieda held onto the victory!
