JFL Review: Sagawa Printing 2-0 Fujieda MYFC

Fujieda’s form is really starting to become a worry now. This is now the third game in a row MYFC have played against a side lower than them in the table. Toshihide Saito would have looked at this run of games and been hopeful of getting some more points on the board and climbing the table but alas, today’s loss made it three defeats in a row.

Sagawa Printing completely dominated the game from start to finish but that was not the only worrying sign in this match. Saito was also only able to name four players on the bench as opposed to the usual seven, despite three new players being registered last week. Injuries and suspensions are really taking their toll on the side.

With the players that were available for selection, Saito reverted back to a 4-4-2 system. Daichi Shibata returned to the starting lineup after his suspension but there was no place for Saito himself as he was not included in the match day squad.

Elsewhere, Shogo Fujimaki and Hiroyuki Ishida were suspended so they were replaced by Shinji Tominari and Yuta Murase in defence and midfield respectively.

Toshiya Ishii and Kanta Takahashi, who started last week, dropped out of the squad completely as well as Ken Hisatomi who came on as sub last Sunday. Alan dropped to the bench. In came Masaya Sato, Shogo Nakatsuru and Akira Toshima for his first start in the JFL since joining on loan from JEF Chiba.

Considering it was another match which Saito had to make wholesale changes, Fujieda started off fairly well. Although Sagawa were on top, the visitors were holding their own.

That was only to the 31st minute though when midfielder Kei Nakano gave the hosts the lead with his third goal of the season. His first goal since he scored two in two back in June.

At half time, Saito made a double change. Off came Daijirou Okuda for Kazushi Uchida and Toshima, who has yet to impress as a Fujieda player, was replaced by the Brazilian, Alan.

The changes has little effect as the Print Dynamite soon doubled their lead. This time it was another midfielder Jun Usami who got the goal, his first since joining from Sagawa Shiga in pre season.

The home side continued their dominance, managing to muster just two shots in the second half to add to the two they had in the first.

Kosei Arita came on for his eighth sub appearance of the season when he replaced Takahisa Nishiyama in the 63rd minute but he too had no effect on the game, although he did manage one of Fujieda’s four shots.

Sagawa Printing (3-5-2) – Tabata; Ezoe, Urashima, Takahashi; Shima, Yoshiki (Aso 90′), Nakano, Usami, Kokuryo (Fujimoto 73′); Iwasaki, Sato (Otsuki 84′)

Fujieda MYFC (4-4-2) – Shibata; Sato, Tominari, Okuda (Uchida 45′), Ichikawa; Narabayashi, Murase, Hashimoto, Nakatsuru; Nishiyama (Arita 63′), Toshima (Alan 45′)

Final score: Sagawa Printing 2-0 Fujieda MYFC

Scorers: Nakano 31, Usami 59′

Attendance: 281

Next game: Fukushima United (home) 20/10/13 05:00/13:00

Three losses in a row now and Fujieda continue to slip down the table. Really disappointing but let’s hope Saito can turn it round.
