JFL review: Honda FC 3-2 Fujieda MYFC

Honda FC will have the bragging rights in Shizuoka for the off-season as they came out on top in the latest Shizuoka derby in a five goal match over Fujieda MYFC, despite the visitors coming back from a goal down twice.

Starting XI before the match

There were two changes for Fujieda as Toshihide Saito decided to stick with a 4-5-1 system. Out went goalkeeper Tatsuya Murao and attacking midifelder Alan and in came Daichi Shibata and Takumi Hashimoto respectively. Saito did not place himself on the bench.

The match got off to the worst possible start for MYFC as within two minutes they were a goal down. Honda’s top scorer Junichiro Shibata fired in his tenth of the season to give the hosts the lead.

Undettered, Fujieda fought back and fifteen minutes later, they had their equaliser. Hiroyuki Ishida’s second goal of the season another to level the scores.

However, the scoring was not over for the first half as Honda soon regained the lead in the 31st minute. This time it was defender Kazuya Sunamori who scored, his second goal of the season enough to give the home side the advantage going into half time.

A double substiution at half time worked wonders for Saito. Off went Hashimoto and Takahisa Nishiyama and on came Hiroki Narabayashi and Akira Toshima and just two minutes into the second half, Fujieda levelled the match.

Substitute Narabayashi scored the equilser after being set up by Ken Hisatomi. It was the left sided player’s second goal of the year.

The pattern of the match continued though as Honda were back in the lead ten minutes later. Daijirou Okuda failed a Honda player in the box giving away a penalty. It was also enough for Okuda’s second yellow of the match and he received his marching orders.

Lone forward Ryuta Hosokai took the penalty and gave the hosts the lead for the third time in the match, his eighth of the season.

Sadly, Fujieda had no reply this time, despite throwing on Shogo Fujimaki for the last thirteen minutes. Honda had claimed revenge over their prefecture rivals.
