That’s it. Match day 34 is over and Fujieda have played their final game in the Japan Football League – for the foreseeable future anyway. It was fitting that it has ended with a hard-fought 0-0 draw away to FC Ryukyu as it was representative of MYFC’s season. Battling, not always victorious but always hard-fought.
There were changes for Fujieda before the start of the match. Out went Daichi Shibata, Masaya Sato and Takumi Hashimoto. In came Tatsuya Murao, for possible his last timefor the club with his loan from FC Gifu ending at the end of the season, Daijirou Okuda, who was returning from suspension, and Alan.
The away side managed to put just just four players on the bench out of a possible seven, with no space for striker Manato Takahashi who made his debut last week.
The first was very evenly matched and unsurprisingly ended goalless. Both teams had just three shots. The only real event of note was a yellow card for Shogo Fujimaki.
The second continued in much the same vain, as both teams continued to cancel each other out. Both managers made all three of their permitted substitutions but neither side could muster a goal to enter the very sizable crowd. It was in fact the biggest crowd Fujieda have played in front this season except from the Emperor’s Cup visit to Shimizu S-Pulse
The game ended all square, the visitors had five second half shots compared to the hosts’ three but none managed to find the back of the net.
Yuta Murase was substituted in the 83rd minute. It could well have been his last match for Fujieda with his loan from Matsumoto Yamaga ending after the match. The same can be said for Akira Toshima, with his loan from JEF Chiba ending when the season finishes.
Fujieda MYFC (4-5-1) – Shibata; Okuda, Narabayashi, Fujimaki, Ichikawa; Ishida (Sato 90′), Ishii, Hisatomi (Hashimoto 68′), Alan, Murase (Nishiyama 83′); Toshima

Final score: FC Ryukyu 0-0 Fujieda MYFC
Next game: In J3 next year!
Not a bad way to end the season but recent weeks have shown Fujieda will have to heavily strengthen their squad before the start of next season if they are to compete in J3 next year.
