Fujieda were held to a goalless draw at home to Fukushima United, despite largely dominating the match. The game was MYFC’s first clean sheet of the season but also the second time they had failed to score in a match this year.
Despite last week’s convincing win, Musashi Mizushima decided to make changes to personnel and system. The 4-4-2 system was replaced with 4-2-3-1. Out went Mitsuru Mansho and Yuhei Marumoto. In came Yuichiro Edamoto and Hiroki Narabayashi. On the bench, Kenta Oishi replaced Hiroyuki Matsumoto as the back up goalkeeper.
Fukushima United went for a 4-3-3 defensive system. Their only player to score a goal this year, Junya Kuno, started on the left wing.
After the first half ended goalless and rather uneventful, Mizushima made two half time substitutions. On came Daijirou Okuda and Marumoto. Off went Narabayashi and Takahiro Tanio.
The minutes continued to tick down without a goal and in the 67th minute, Shogo Nakatsuru was brough on for Masaya Sato.
Fukushima continued to frustrate Fujieda, their miserly defence holding out. They did after all, only concede one goal against Nagano Parceiro and Gainare Tottori.
The final roll of the dice for MYFC saw Takahisa Nishiyama replace Ken Hisatomi in the 80th minute but it was to now effect. The game ended goalless.
Fujieda had more shots, more free kicks and more corners but just could not score.

A disappointing draw then. A shame Fujieda couldn’t build on last week’s win.
