A Fujieda MYFC side, without their star striker Tsugutoshi Oishi, went down to a 3-1 loss away to Zweigen Kanazawa in round 14 of the J3 League. The result sees Kanazawa stay in 3rd place, whereas Fujieda stay in 11th.
The biggest team news for Fujieda was that nine-goal striker Oishi was missing. He had formed a good partnership with fellow forward Yusuke Ishii is recent matches but the club’s top scorer dropped out of the squad altogether for the trip to Kanazawa.
Oishi was replaced by Takahiro Tanio up front in the only change from last week’s win over YSCC. That meant Ke Hisatomi remained on the bench from the start.
Kanazawa lined up with an attacking 4-3-3 system as well has having two forwards on the bench in reserve.
The first half was relatively uneventful, with the only real events of note being a booking for each side, Masaya Sato picking up MYFC’s booking in the 35th minute.
The game exploded into life in the second half though. Just ten minutes into the second 45, MYFC took the lead through defender Desmond’s first goal of the season. Fujieda had a shock lead in front of a record 8,115 crowd.
However, MYFC’s lead didn’t last long. Three minutes later, Kanazawa were back on level terms. A cross from midfielder Kenta Yamafuji set up right winger Shogo Omaichi for his first goal of the season.
In response, Fujieda threw on Hisatomi to replace Tanio to try and regain the lead – but it would be hosts who would take the lead.
In the 67th minute, winger Junichi Tanaka gave Kanazawa the lead with his first goal of the season.
Then six minutes later, the game was wrapped up as Omaichi scored again to extend the hosts’ lead to two goals and finish off a brave performance by MYFC.
Manager Musashi Mizushima then proceeded to bring on Fujieda’s last three outfield players from the bench on but they were all defenders and the final score was 3-1.
