J3 Review: Blaublitz Akita 2-2 Fujieda MYFC

Video highlights of Fujieda match are available at 2:34.

Fujieda MYFC came away with a point after a hard fought draw against Blaublitz Akita, having to twice come back from behind in order to secure the draw.

After a good battling performance against Machida Zelvia last week, manager Musashi Mizushima decided against making any changes to his starting line-up. However, there was a slight change in system, as he decided to line up in a 4-5-1 formation. There was also a welcome return for Tsugutoshi Oishi onto the bench.

Blaublitz lined up with a 3-5-2 formation but like Fujieda, their top scorer was on the bench, Hirochika Miyoshi. Up front though, they did have six-goal striker Leonardo.

Fujieda started the game off well but in the 31st minute, they found themselves 1-0 down. Blaublitz attacked down the right and the ball was pulled back to the edge of the area for striker Hayato Mine to whip the ball into the far left corner to give his side the lead with his third goal of the season.

A minute after the goal, MYFC were forced to make a change with Takahisa Nishiyama coming off for Mitsuru Mansho.

Fujieda hit back though and after the introduction of Oishi in the 57th minute, MYFC had the momentum with them. And four minutes later, they equalised. Good hassling from Oishi and Ken Hisatomi led to the ball falling to substitute Mansho, whose deflected shot rolled into the path of Hisatomi at the back post to fire home home his second league goal of the season.

Blaublitz then introduced their danger man Miyoshi off the bench as they looked to get back into the lead. The change paid off as in the 70th minute, Miyoshi broke down the left and crossed the ball to the back post to give Leonardo a near open goal to slot home into and put the hosts back into the lead.

Four minutes later though, Fujieda hit back for the second time of the match as Mansho’s first time finish from a direct ball into the box beat the Blaublitz goalkeeper to tie the game 2-2. It was the 25-year-old’s first ever goal for Fujieda.

That was the last event of the game as ended 2-2 and MYFC would have been happy that for the first time in three games, they didn’t concede a goal in stoppage time.
