J3 Preview: FC Ryukyu v Fujieda MYFC

Ryukyu match 3For their 23rd match of the season, Fujieda travel to 7th place FC Ryukyu, a team which they have taken four points from already this season.

Fujieda MYFC team news
After a return to winning ways last week, defeating J League U22 2-1, Fujieda will be looking to keep their winning run going, but it will not be easy against a Ryukyu side which has won its last two games.

Last weekend saw a return to the bench for former Japan international defender Daisuke Ichikawa. The 34-year-old made just his fourth appearance of the season last Sunday, with all four now coming from the bench. He will be pushing for his first start of the season this weekend.

Also on the bench last week, was forward Takuya Sasagaki. Although he did not make the field for his debut, if Fujieda need a goal at any point during Sunday’s match, he could be the man manager Musashi Mizushima turns to.

Having gone five games without a win, all is looking well at FC Ryukyu after back-to-back 1-0 wins, including a victory of league leaders Machida Zelvia. The two wins followed a draw, which means the side are unbeaten in three games.

Despite the two recent wins, Ryukyu have one of the worst goal differences in the league and that is largely down to a lack of goals. Only two teams have scored less than the 23 goals they have notched this season.

Ten of those 23 goals have been scored by Shota Aoki and Noritaka Fujisawa, who have scored 5 goals each. Aoki is the more in-form forward out of the two, as the former Yokohama player has two goals in his last three games. Fujisawa has just two goals in his last 14 appearances.
