Fujieda MYFC’s four game unbeaten streak came to a halt as they were narrowly defeated 2-1 away to 4th place Gainare Tottori.
Manager Musashi Mizushima made several changes from the team which drew 1-1 with SC Sagamihara last weekend. Out went, Takuya Sasagaki, Yusuke Ishii and Yuta Kutsukake. In came Masato Mizuki, Shogo Nakatsuru and Takahisa Nishiyama, fresh from his goal off the bench last week.
Fujieda’s 4-4-2 system was pitted against Gainare’s apparent 3-6-1 formation, with Brazilian striker Ramazotti leading the line up front on his own.
The game started fairly tight but after just 17 minutes, the breakthrough was made as some incisive passing on the edge of MYFC’s area, allowed Ryuji Hirota to fire past Park Iru-Gyu in goal.
Fujieda then had a chance to hit back when Masaya Sato was first to Yuichiro Edamoto’s cross but his flick went narrowly over.
Both sides then had chances but the game remained 1-0 at half time. The interval saw Mizushima make a change, with Yuta Kutusukake replacing Kazushi Uchida in defence.
The second half got off to a disastrous start for the Fujieda though, as just three minutes into the second 45, Ramazotti doubled the hosts’ lead. A cross from the right was chested up by the Brazilian, before he slotted it home on the volley from close range.
Nine minutes later though, MYFC were back in the game. A corner from the left bounced around in the box before being fired home by substitute Kutsukake to half the deficit.
Despite another three changes by Mizushima, Fujieda were unable to secure an equaliser and left Tottori empty handed.
