J3 Review: Grulla Morioka 0-2 Fujieda MYFC

Fujieda MYFC secured only their second away win of the season as they shocked Grulla Morioka by coming away from the match with all three points. Goals from Tsugutoshi Oishi and Yusuke Ishii were enough to grab a 2-0 victory for MYFC.

For the first team this season, Fujieda manager Musashi Mizushima decided to line up in a 4-3-3 formation. His attacking system saw striker Yusuke Ishii return to the starting team and there were also returns to the first eleven for Yuta Kutsukake, Daijirou Okuda and Takumi Hashimoto, who was playing in an unfamiliar defensive role. Kazushi Uchida, Masato Mizuki, Shogo Nakatsuru and Daisuke Ichikawa were the players to drop out.

Grulla started the game with a 4-5-1 formation, starting their top scorer Ryota Doi up front on his own.

The hosts had the first chance of the game. Defender So Morita cut in from the right but his left foot shot was dragged wide of the Fujieda goal.

It was then the visitors’ turn to attack. Takahisa Nishiyama picked the ball up on the left wing, where he laid the ball back for Masaya Sato, who’s subsequent cross found the head of Tsugutoshi Oishi to score his 12th league goal of the season. The goal meant MYFC went into half time 1-0 up.

Just five minutes into the second half, Fujieda doubled their lead. Good hassling from Oishi down the left allowed him to win the ball and feed Nishiyama. The left winger advanced with the ball into the box before squaring it for Ishii to slot home his second league goal of 2014.

Despite being 2-0 down, Grulla kept on fighting and had chances to pull a goal back. First, midfielder Yusuke Hayashi shot narrowly wide before Ryota Doi’s header cannoned against the post.

Both sides then started to make substitutions, disrupting the flow of the game but despite four changes from the home side, they could not break down the Fujieda defence, who secured a sixth clean sheet of the season.
