J3 Review: Fukushima United 2-3 Fujieda MYFC

Two goals from top scorer Tsugutoshi Oishi were enough to secure a 3-2 victory for Fujieda MYFC over Fukushima United. The win meant MYFC leapfrogged the J League U22 side into 10th place.

After two defeats in a row, manager Musashi Mizushima decided to go back to basics and revert to a 4-4-2 system, changing from the unsuccessful 3-5-2 formation which had been being used. That meant one change to the starting eleven, out went Daijirou Okuda and in came Ryuji Mochizuki.

The hosts lined up with a 4-3-3 system, with the two Koreans up front, Kim Hong Yeon and Kim Kong Chyong.

Fujieda were looking to secure a first win in three but the game got off to the worst possible start. After just 16 minutes, Takashi Kamoshida, who usually plays at left back but today was in midfield, gave the home side the lead with his second goal of the season.

It was a nightmare start for Fujieda but it did not take long for them to hit back. Just seven minutes later, top scorer Tsugutoshi Oishi fired home his 13th league goal of the season to put his side on level terms.

That goal meant it went the game went into half time all-square at 1-1 but it did not stay long like that going into the second period.

Just four minutes into the second half, Yuichiro Edamoto gave MYFC an unexpected lead with his third goal of the season.

This prompted the hosts into action, who soon made two substitutions. Fujieda made an interesting change themselves as they replaced Takahisa Nishiyama with another striker in the form of Yusuke Ishii, keeping the emphasis firmly on attack.

This bold approach was rewarded nine minutes from time as Oishi bagged his second goal of the game and his 14th in J3 this season. The goal meant he was now the second top scorer in the league, behind Koji Suzuki of Machida Zelvia who has 17.

The third goal seemed to have wrapped victory up for Fujieda but they were in for a nervous finale as in the 91st minute, Kim Hong Yeon grabbed his seventh goal of the season to set a tense final few minutes.

Fujieda managed to hold and secure and third away win of the season.
